My working week is split between my design consultancy practice and self-initiated research, publishing, typographic and printmaking pursuits.
As TYPOgraphHer I write, design and produce limited edition books and a journal to educate, challenge and engage design audiences. I also use digital media to keep a blog of interesting conversations, inspirations, process and experimentation, while curiously exploring my discipline.
You can find me on social channels @typographHer
I am passionate about design education, innovation, experimentation and continued learning. 18 years into my career I am still a student of design. (The more I learn about the craft of typography the more I realise I don't know!)
As another avenue to share ideas, I also regularly teach typography, editorial design, design methodology, design history, and printmaking at some of Australia and New Zealand’s best creative schools.
Glyphs & Graphemes is a private press where I make limited edition prints and artist books in editions of 1/10. This is my creative folly. A vehicle to make work without the bounds of commercial and client constraints. My printmaking is an excuse to play and to learn (and improve my designer dirt), with Albert my 1872 Albion Handiron, George my 1867 Gordon Oldstyle Platen, Sergio my 1910 Sarogolia Proof Press and Frank my 1950’s Farley self-inking press.
